If you’re like me, the thing I look forward to most after getting home from a camping trip is a hot shower! There used to be few options for taking a warm shower while camping and usually required your campground to offer them.  But today, there are a number of camping shower tent models to choose from.

Portable camping showers are great for rinsing off in your campsite, but if you want to take a real shower in your birthday suit, you’re going to need a camping shower tent. A camping shower tent can also come in really handy when camping with kids, offering a private spot to wash off your kids after a busy day of camping.

As with any piece of camping equipment, there are a variety of features available in a portable shower tent for camping, so it’s important to find the right one for your needs.

I reviewed the camping shower tent models on the market today and found the five best options that fit a range of campers’ needs.  But one model stood out as the overall best camping shower tent for sale today: the Ozark Instant 2-Room Shower Tent.

Below I provide overviews of the five best camping shower tent models for sale and identify key features of each to help you make an informed decision when purchasing one.

Best Camping Shower Tents

Reviews of the Best Camping Shower Tents

While it might seem like there would be few differences in camping shower tent features, this couldn’t be further from the truth.

In fact, choosing the wrong portable shower tent for camping could accidentally lead to you showing the campground a little more than you want to.

A key feature to pay attention to is the privacy that a given camping shower tent offers. None of the tents will reveal your naked body, but in the right right light, some tents could show your silhouette which I’m sure if something we’d all like to avoid.

When reviewing the best camping shower tents, I made sure to only consider tents that offered added privacy so we can bath in comfort.

My picks also cover a range of options and price points. From no-frills camping shower tents to those offer more elaborate features such as a second room for changing or a portable toilet.

Ozark Instant 2-Room Shower Tent

Ozark 2 Room Camping Shower Tent

The Ozark Instant 2-Room Shower Tent is my top pick among the best camping shower tents.

I love how its two-room design allows it to be a camping shower tent, as well as a restroom for your portable toilet. Camping equipment that serve multiple purposes always get higher grades from me because it means there is one less thing to pack when camping

Dimensions

Weight: 20 lbs
Footprint: 7 ft x 3.5 ft
Height: 7 ft

Privacy

The polyester tent material is lined with a silver coating, giving you complete privacy when showering.

Features

Of the 5 camping shower tents I reviewed, this is the only two-room model. I really like this design because you can easily change outside of the shower room. This helps to keep your clothes and towel dry from the shower. The tent also includes a detachable rain-fly.

The Ozark Instant 2-Room Shower Tent comes with a 5 gallon solar shower. That’s a great feature because it means you can use the tent right out of the box. But if you live in cloudy or cool climates, you may want a gas-powered water heater to ensure you have a nice hot shower.

The shower room has a mesh drain in the floor and two screen windows help with ventilation. The shower room has pretty standard features, with a towel rack and toiletry holder.

While not technically a “pop-up” shower tent, reviewers note that it can easily be set up quickly. But they also noted to make sure that the tent is securely tied down as it can get moved around in the wind otherwise.

KingCamp Outdoor Privacy Shower Tent

King Camp Shower Tent

The KingCamp Outdoor Privacy Shower Tent is an over-sized camping shower tent that should fit most campers. Nobody likes feeling cramped when taking a shower. That’s the problem with so many showers in RVs and campers. But the KingCamp Shower Tent will give you ample space for a relaxing shower at the end of the day.

Dimensions

Weight: 12.5 lbs
Footprint: 5.5 ft x 5.5 ft
Height: 7 ft 1 in

Privacy

The tent material is lined with a silver coating, giving you complete privacy when showering.

Features

The KingCamp Outdoor Privacy Shower Tent comes with a 5 gallon solar shower which is nice if you want to use the tent straight out of the bag. But as mentioned above, this might not be an ideal set up for cloudy weekends or cooler climates.

As with most camping shower tents, this tent offers mesh windows (2) and roof to ensure proper ventilation. The roof also has a removable rain-fly.

It has a rope inside the tent for hanging towels and clothes and a mesh pocket for holding toiletries. The camping shower tent also has two hooks for hanging gear and a shower nozzle.

Reviewers noted that set up was a breeze, even though it’s not technically a pop-up camping shower tent. They also commented on how well it withstood winds up to 15 mph.

But, be careful when zipping and unzipping windows and doors, as reviewers have noted the zipper can easily get caught in the tent’s fabric and rip it.

KickAss Camping Shower Tent

KickAssShowerTent

The KickAss Camping Shower Tent has the most innovative design of any of the camping shower tent models I reviewed. It attaches directly to your vehicle’s roof rack for easy deployment and packing. I love that it’s one less thing to remember to bring on your next camping trip.

But it’s probably not a great option if you’re driving a smaller vehicle, even if it has a roof rack as it probably wouldn’t allow the tent to be expanded to its full height. It can probably fit on vehicles the size of a Honda CR-V. Or it can be attached to your camper.

Dimensions

Weight: 16 lbs
Footprint: 3 ft 5 in x 3 ft 5 in
Height: Ranges from 5 ft 3 in to 6 ft 11 in

Privacy

The tent is made of rip-stop polyester and is lined with extra silver coating, giving you complete privacy when showering.

Features

The KickAss Camping Shower Tent is made of a thicker material than many other camping shower tents on the market. The curtain height is adjustable, making it suitable for a variety of vehicle models.

It offers a window that allows you to access items in your vehicle if the tent is mounted above one of your vehicle’s windows. This is nice because it allows you place your clothes and towel in your vehicle and keep them dry while showering.

The tent has two mesh pockets for toiletries and a built-in holder for the shower head.

The manufacturer states that it can assembled in 7 seconds which seems reasonable based on its design.

The ease of assembly was also mentioned repeatedly by owners. Owners had few concerns about the product and just wished for some additional features like an LED lighting strip in the shower.

Green Elephant Camping Shower Tent

GreenElephantTent

If you’re looking for a camping shower tent that is a breeze to set up and take down, then consider the Green Elephant Camping Shower Tent. Of the different shower tents I reviewed, this one had the simplest set up and take down methods.

Dimensions

Weight: 5.5 lbs
Footprint: 3 ft 11 in x 3 ft 11 in
Height: 6 ft 10.7 in

Privacy

Unlike the other camping shower tents I reviewed, this one does not have an inner-silver lining to minimize the chances of creating a silhouette while showering. But users noted that during the day this was not a problem. Only at night if showering with a flashlight was there the potential for creating a silhouette.

It’s just something to be aware of if you decide to choose this shower tent,

Features

This camping shower tent has pretty standard features compared to the other shower tents I reviewed. It has mesh pockets for toiletries, a rain fly, and a variety of hangers for your clothes, towels, and flashlights.

It does not come with its own solar shower. But one nice feature that I didn’t see with other models was the inclusion of sandbags to tie down the tent in case the ground is difficult for stakes.

It also comes with a toilet paper holder in case you choose to use the tent as a bathroom too.

Sportneer Camping Shower Tent

sportneer

The Sportneer Camping Shower Tent is a good basic model of camping shower tent that will give you privacy but not a lot of extra features.

This is also another pop-up camping shower tent for easy set up and take down.

Dimensions

Weight: 5.9 lbs
Footprint: 3 ft 11.2 in x 3 ft 11.2 in
Height: 6 ft 2.8 in

Privacy

The tent has silver lining to make silhouetting not a problem.

Features

The Sportneer Camping Shower Tent has two zippered windows that allow for ventilation. But unlike the other camping shower tents I reviewed, the this tent did not have mesh-covered windows. So this could be a problem in buggy conditions.

The tent offers standard features like built-in pockets to store toiletries, as well as a clothes line.

One feature this tent has that other tents I reviewed do not is a detachable floor. This could make clean-up slightly easier while still giving you a clean place to stand when showering. It’s also a nice feature if you want to use the tent as a bathroom instead and don’t need a floor.

Owners have noted that getting the tent repacked can be a little challenging and take a few attempts before getting it right. But most people were happy with the tent for a camping shower or a private road-side bathroom.

Summary

There are a lot of camping shower tents available on the market today with a lot of different features. A key feature to look for in any camping shower tent is that it offers sufficient privacy so that you’re not inadvertently giving the campground a peepshow.

The Ozark Instant 2-Room Shower Tent is my top pick for a camping shower tent because it offers great privacy features and a two-room set up so you can have a full bathroom on your next camping trip.
